Sangiovese is one of the most famous Italian grape varieties in the world.
Its name has Latin origins (sanguis Jovis), literally Jove's blood.
Despite the fact that it is one of the most recognized Italian grapes in the world, Sangiovese is only successfully cultivated in the center of Italy; the most iconic being the Chianti Classico area.
I have had the chance to taste Sangiovese cultivated in Australia, Mexico, and also India. The one that really impressed me was the Indian one!
